Damara’s Modeling Sneak Peek | Seattle Fashion Photographer

Man was today an awesome day! First, I got to take pictures. That alone makes a day great. Seriously — the opportunity to go make art always makes me giddy. On top of it all, I was going to photograph an aspiring model, Damara, who was also super excited about this session and had worked up a bunch of ideas to boot. And then, as if things needed to get better, we had our session in Carnation, starting at the old, vintage gas station, and then working over to one of my dream photography locations. Seriously, I’ve been lusting over these old rustic barns and buildings for months, but never knew who to ask and didn’t have the guts in the first place. So how did I get so lucky?

Damara’s boyfriend, and a guy I went to high school with, actually lives there! Seriously. What a happy coincidence. And man, was I happy!

Today was certainly cold, and a little bit gloomy, but honestly, overcast days are some of the best days to take photographs. The cloud cover evens out light and skin tone and works wonders. It may not be the golden hour, but it’s still one of my favorite lighting situations! Damara was a real trooper, and we got some great shots out of this session — it’s honestly one of my favorites. The one against the green wall? Seriously you should see that large. It’s beautiful. And I rarely say that about my own work.

The combination of perfect photo taking weather, a great model and a great location really worked in our favor today.

Damara, I hope you love these images as much as I do, and I’ll be in touch with you about your full gallery soon. I really think these photos are going to make a good impression, and I of course wish you the best of luck in your career! Hopefully, we can work together some more in the future. :) And Bryson, thanks so much for setting this up and for having such gorgeous property for us to use! You guys rock!
